My phone has been stolen twice in a month from festivals in San Bernardino. They target women.

Hi everyone I just wanted to vent here.

Last month I went to Nocturnal Wonderland for my birthday and my phone was pickpocketed there. I wasn’t surprised because I didn’t have a phone tether on it at the time. It was in my fanny pack and I should have been more careful about it. I decided to treat myself after that and get the new iPhone 15 since I’ve never gotten any new phone when it’s come out.

Well… my time with that phone was cut short at Escape when I was pickpocketed again on Friday. This time I had my phone on a tether. They took my phone out of the case. I suspect they took when it when I was at Zomboy because it was so packed and my group was holding hands to move through the crowd. I told my friends my phone got stolen and they thought it was just because I was clumsy or something, but then when they checked if they had theirs… they were missing as well.

I was in a group of five women with two men. Four of our phones were stolen (all women), and the fifth women felt her backpack get tugged on, but they couldn’t access her phone because she had a lock on hers. That night I felt so defeated. Even if I did catch them stealing my phone- what could I do? Im 5’0” they could just drag me away with them if they wanted to. Anyone could easily rob me even on the way back to the car. I just feel so unsafe going to any NOS events. Please move the venue somewhere else.

I read that the iPhone 15 has precision tracking up to 24 hours after the phone has been turned off. I have the location of the last ping I got at 3am. It’s in the street by a mobile home about 15 minutes away from the venue.
