How to get a refund... a success story

I got a refund from Steam for the Deluxe $89.99 version. I played over 10hrs and bought it during early access. Here are some pointers:

  1. Make sure you can start a free form dialogue. Don't Press the "I want a refund button" that is an automated action. No one looks at it. You want "I have a question about my purchase"
  2. Give them points on State of Game:
    1. Removing features you liked,
    2. Lack of stability
    3. No "Year 1 pass" (its not out until Summer now)
    4. No player base to find games- its a MP game not a single player you need a player base
    5. EA's investor call admitting the game is not in a good state and they need to fix it
    6. False advertising. The game is not what they promised in their advertising.
  3. If all else fails us Consumer Law. You are entitled to a refund under Consumer Law (pretty much any countries consumer law you can make an argument at this point)

Good luck.

I can't believe we have to write these posts... le sad

Edit: getting a lot of questions of how to get to the "I have a question about my purchase" ticket.

  1. Go to steam support
  2. Click purchases and select Bf2042
  3. Click "I have a question about this purchase"
