In fact, I think I learned something about my relationship to cycling through your comments. While I don't enjoy changing flats and shifter maintenance has brought me to the edge of madness once or twice, I do enjoy the hands-on mechanical core of cycling. I love to ride, but I also love the fact that I can adjust and control every component. Electronic shifting takes some of that away.
