If you're staring a team tomorrow, there's only THREE quarterbacks you're taking over Drake Maye
- Allen (Undisputed)
- Burrow
- Mahomes (For past history and if we're giving him benefit of doubt for this season)
End list.
Lamar Jackson is the Joel Embiid of quarterbacks. I genuinely would not feel confident in any postseason success. And once the legs go in a few years, it's over. I don't care that he'll be a top regular season performer for a couple more years.
Justin Herbert is never hitting that next level, its year 5, he has the elite coach and he's still plateaued.
Love/Stroud/Tua/Kyler have big Shakey's energy. They're frisky and will do stuff but theres a ceiling here. You will ask yourself "whats going on here?" about these guys every couple games.
Purdy, Goff, Hurts are solid guys on stacked teams. Drake's ceiling is way above this on a pure talent/physical level.
After that, its all guys who are either too old (Stafford), hit their limited peak (Mayfield), flash in pans that are already fading (Daniels), goofy revival busts (Darnold, Geno) or inferior young guys (Caleb, Stroud, Nix)
Pats crushed this pick and they're set up for a lot of fun the next couple decades.
