Flute/whistle in bossa nova / samba

I’m looking to I.D. an instrument that I’ve heard a ton in various samba/bossa nova songs. I’ve scoured liner notes but generally Brazilian ones don’t have who plays what instruments. I really love the sound and haven’t heard it in anything but Brazilian.
