What has been your timeline for resolving issues overseen by the Province?!!
The past 2 years have been an absolute nightmare for me.
I’ve been to BC Supreme Court against the Attorney General/BCFMA, many meetings with my MLA, Complaints to the Ombudsperson regarding a Provincial Ministry, twice, the Civil Resolution Tribunal As well as things like Quality Assurance, Prevention and Loss Management, The Law Society and a probably a few more that aren’t coming to me.
At every turn I’ve been met with redundancy, bureaucracy, and what feels like gaslighting.
Two current examples would be the Ombudsperson and the CRT. While I understand backlogs and all that, I feel like it’s gone beyond reasonable expectations.
CRT for example, I filed February 19th 2024. As of today, we haven’t even gotten to the point of submitting evidence. Their website claims the average time for a full file, no early resolution or default judgment, to be 254 days. I’m at 315 days today. When I inquire, I simply get a response that it will be within a few weeks and I will be contacted.
Ombudsperson, I made a complaint on November 20th. I heard from an investigator a few weeks later. It’s not a simple matter and she was needing to speak to management. I never heard back, never even got a file number. I called last week, was told by intake they could see the note that she was going to speak with Manager and that’s it. And now she’s apparently off for vacation time. I was told a Manager would call me and of course, silence. Their website only says issues will be dealt with in a “timely manner”
Curious to hear what others have experienced as of late.
