Wellbutrin has improved my life significantly, but damn this jaw clenching!

Hi guys!

Today marks 2 weeks on Wellbutrin XL 150mg 24 hour release. I’ve been struggling with depression and anxiety for years. Anxiety is still an issue for me, and my doctor was concerned that Wellbutrin would exacerbate my anxiety. I’m still trying to figure out how it is affecting my anxiety. I do find it a little bit hard to wind down at the end of the day and I’m a little restless when sitting down. I’m hoping that will pass.

I’m accomplishing so many new things now that I have energy and motivation. I’m also finding joy so much easier now! It has improved my day to day life significantly.

Except . . . I am clenching my jaw like a mother fucker! My dentist has told me years ago that I grind my teeth, most likely at night. Since starting this new medication, I have actively noticed my jaw is SUPER clenched during the day now, too! I don’t know how long I can deal. I need advice! I’ve already experienced headaches, sensitive teeth, and tense muscles in my neck, shoulders, and face from the jaw clenching.

I REALLY don’t want to get off this medication at this point since I’ve noticed so many improvements, but I also want to take care of my teeth and not be in physical pain.

Can anyone provide advice and tips? Like jaw exercises, other relief, or ways to prevent jaw clenching? Will this side effect go away with time? This is the most persistent side effect I have noticed so far.

Should I ask my doctor to go down to 100mg?
