Cautiously Optomistic

On paper, this is a hell of a trade for us, there is no doubt about that. But a couple of things stand out to me:

1. Is Rantanen gonna be as productive without a magician like Mackinnon feeding him perfect passes? He is the reason NM is leading the league in points, because of all those assists.

2. Why has Hall played for so many teams? He is a former Hart Trophy winner, teams tend to hold on to MVPs. Unless, no one else on the team likes playing with him. Is he gonna be a disruption?

3. Is KK ready to be center for our second line? Yeah he has had a hot streak, but he has scored a third of his goals in the last week and we have been playing since October.

4. Necas is about to become a goal-scoring MACHINE taking passes from Mackinnon. I’m not really worried about this one as much as I am just happy for Necas.

Ultimately, I think we are a better team for making this trade. I just don’t think it will turn out to be the barn-burner that we think it will be.
