Should I give this dealership a second chance?
I recently finalized a deal on a 2020 Toyota Corolla at a Nissan dealership, but I ran into some issues regarding the warranty. They offered me a 4-year Nissan warranty, but after thinking it over, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go with it.
So, the next morning, I called them to say I might want to back out. Just to be clear, I hadn’t signed any papers or made a deposit—only signed the loan documents. The salesperson told me the manager would call me back, but that never happened. Instead, the finance manager accidentally called my partner a couple of hours later, but they were in meetings and missed the call. The manager left a voicemail saying I was approved for the loan and that they needed one more document to finalize everything, asking me to get in touch ASAP.
As soon as I heard about this, I tried calling the finance manager and the salesperson, but neither of them answered. I texted them both, letting them know I was trying to reach them and asked them to call me whenever they could. Three hours passed with no response. I tried calling the finance manager again, but their phone was out of reach. Finally, I texted the salesperson, explaining that the finance manager had mistakenly contacted my partner and that I had been trying to reach them for hours because they asked me to call them ASAP. The salesperson replied right away, saying they would call me tomorrow morning.
Just to add—no one from the dealership ever called me back to discuss canceling the deal.
So, what do you all think? Should I continue doing business with this dealership? Looking for advice from those with experience!
