British expats, what are the most genuine British-style pubs open in Chicagoland?
I love the bars here and the city itself - I’ve no complaints at all, but sometimes I just miss the look and feel of a proper pub.
Elephant and Castle is ok but feels like a fever dream version of Spoons rather than a realistic interpretation (I was also quite miffed by their claim that happy hours don’t exist in the UK, but that’s by the by).
I’ve heard the Red Lion is a good spot that I need to check out.
Are there any other places that might scratch that pub itch for me?
