Meeting Chinese boyfriends parents for the first time

We have been together for 6 months, we are currently doing long distance as I needed to go back to my home country to finish my last year of university. I am going to China for my winter vacation and I will meet his family. I am white but I can speak Mandarin (I just passed HSK 5) so I would say my level is decent enough to hold a conversation. I am thinking of bringing some food gifts from my home country, all in nice packaging and some Chinese tea. I am not sure what other gifts to bring as they don't smoke or drink alcohol, any suggestions would be appreciated. I feel very nervous about meeting them and making a good impression.

What worries me the most is my family background, as I don't know my father, and I don't really have a relationship with my mother. I don't want them to look down upon me because of this. I really hope they don't ask too many personal questions.
