Sony Venice vs. Alexa Mink

I currently own a Red Komodo with Canon FD lenses and I’m looking to upgrade to the next level camera wise. I shoot a combination of corporate/doc style work, narrative, and commercial. Narrative doesn’t pay the best but it’s what I’m focused on and passionate about. Projects I’m on are starting to have proper money for crew + camera rentals and I’ve shot on an Alexa Mini + anamorphics a few times recently so I’m starting to look into upgrading my camera.

My main drawback on the mini is just that it is somewhat old technology. Beautiful image and great workflow using the camera but how much longer will it continue to be a staple in the industry now that the a35 is shipping? Not a huge fan of resolution but would the Sony venice have a little more shelf life as an investment?

Edit: adding in that 40k is pretty much my max I think I can reasonably afford for monthly payments. If I went with the Venice, I’d most likely sell the Komodo to cover the difference between venice and mini and get an fx3 as b cam.
