Learning from nothing

Hi, I want to learn to code to change my career path or add a side job to make more money for my family. However I know nothing about coding but it has always intrigued me. The downside is that I don't have the money to pay for a boot camp. I've seen some websites like code academy offer a full year subscription to Learn for As little at 150 U.S. dollars. Would that subscription get me to where I need to, to learn the foundation of coding? I want to lear the basics or more if possible. Thank you in advanced.
