How to remove design from mug?

My coworker got everyone at my job these super cool mugs as presents. I super appreciate it and i love the mug but the design she chose for mine is an AI generated dragon that i really don’t like :( I feel bad but at the same time i don’t want to use a mug with ugly AI art on it. Is there a way to remove the design without damaging the mug?
