I have no idea what to title this.
I've been a frequent passenger on the 53A bus for a a few years now. If you don't know, this bus route serves a predominately Hispanic/Latinx community. For the first time today I witnessed a bus driver berate a Hispanic passenger that paid her fare. He insisted that she did not pay her fare. She was non-English speaking. She tried to communicate that she did pay her fare and then checked her Ventra app and confirmed she paid her fare. The bus driver was outspoken and irritable, so I decided I would walk up and pay a $2.50 fare with the cash I had on hand. He confused me with the other passenger, who was about the same age and stature of myself. He said something along the lines of "See she had the money."
