Please help me identify why my hair gets so tangled

Howdy everyone - I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out why my hair gets so dang tangled so dang easily. I wash and brush my hair with a tangle tweezers in the shower, and it always dries beautifully, however, it tangles almost immediately. Putting on a shirt, laying down on the couch, putting it up in a ponytail, even running my fingers through it will tangle it. Even if my hair is in a braid while I sleep, it will still find a way to tangle. It's instantaneous and it's starting to get annoying and painful. I love my hair but the thoughts of cutting it all off are starting to get to me haha

Products: Carol's Daughter Born To Repair shampoo/conditioner, their Goddess Strength cream. Alternatively - Native's line of shampoo and conditioner and 4U hair oil when I run out of CD.

Environment: I live in rural Colorado, so dry air and hard water. My job has me outside every day so I normally roll it into a bun to try and protect it from the wind and sun.

Extras: my hair is not heat or color treated. It is in the elements a lot (see above) however. I cut my hair every six months, I take about an inch or two off. Every two weeks I hard reset with Head & Shoulders or Aussie. I don't see an overwhelming amount of dead ends, my hair is very soft but very thick. I can't figure out why it's catching on each other.

I added lots of pictures of the tangles, and the three at the end are what my curls look like immediately after a shower and being air dried. Thank you for any help y'all can offer me.
