How do people here react to tourists visting Varosha?

I live in a coutnry far away from Turkiye, I knew about Turkish involvement in Cyprus but I didn't know the details until recently.

I decided to visit Cyprus on a whim just because its near to where Im traveling + someone suggested it to me because I like history. But...after hearing about Varosha, I don't know, I feel like it's disrespectful to locals who used to live here... From what I understand turkiye set up Varosha as a tourist destination to further divide the North and South. I visited many genocide sites (eg; Bosnia, Auswhtiz, etc) but this one just feels 'off' to me as it's something ongoing to further escalate occupation intentions.

Please let me know if I am missing anything about Cypurs
