Coming back for S7 without expansion?

Hey guys so I am one of the few people who loved D4 AND PoE and i’m hyped for this new season after watching videos to come back and take a break from poe2. I don’t own the expansion however and I can’t really justify paying for it currently. I was wondering if coming back for the new season without it would be worth it? I would really love to experience the new season but feel like without the expansion I would be missing a lot. Looking for opinions, thanks!
