dog stairs/ramp advice needed!

I'm planning to do a big scale renovation in my house and there's a flight of stairs. My dog is 6 years old, and while his joints are still in good shape, I want to made the necessary adjustments before his old age. I have read that stairs aren't very good for dogs and I'm seeking other options that I can install/build beside the stairs.

The stairs are slightly steep and a ramp might be too steep if installed. I've searched on the Internet for other options, but it seems that only stairs or ramps are the only available options for now. Anyone has any suggestions?
