About to Switch to a Dumbphone

After watching many videos and reading many comments and look at my life how is it being stolen from me by social media I have decided to quit my lovely personal assistant iPhone with the glorious newly dubbed Apple Intelligence to a phone without a camera but with a sleek design.

Now the sleek design is important to me as it will help me stick to it and not revert back to the iPhone with the many many features. However, I am also focusing on security and keeping low digital footprint on the internet. I have also deleted my social networking accounts one by one and any comment, post, review I have ever made. I also deleted old email accounts and disabled all notifications from my iPhone for 2-3 weeks now.

I have been also quitting my iPhone bit by bit when I get back home and since I have an iPhone, a Mac and PS5. I noticed when quitting my iPhone I lean on my Mac or PS5. This was not my goal when I started thinking about switching to a dumbphone. The whole thing was to live peacefully with minimum technology.

I want to read a book, but I ever use my PS5 or go on my Mac to do endless searches in Wikipedia and etc I will not be making progress. So now, I am left with this to solve...

After many thoughts, I solved an issue related to my continues need for my iPhone which was Google Maps and WhatsApp. I have decided that I will use WhatsApp on my Mac during working hours only and shut it down when I am out. As for Google Maps, I am thinking that many many times when I go to unknown places i usually have someone with me. As for photos, I think things that worth taking photos are the moments with the family and guess what? All my family members carry an iPhone. So, problems almost solved.

I think it is safe to say that if anyone in the world would like to connect with me, they can… via calls. As for texts, I do want them anymore since I am going to quit my iPhone because I do not want to be in chains because of it all of the time.

Can I say something and to be considered as rude? I do not think it is healthy for someone to quit their smartphones and replace them with many more outdated devices. I think whoever does this is missing the point. With Technology, things are easier to get, however there is no taste in life because life is being stolen as time is being stolen from us.
