Finally switched to a feature phone
Been thinking of switching to a feature phone for over a year, just wanted to get away from social media and the toxicity that seems to come with it (though not entirely, as I obviously still use reddit)
In the past year I left all social media except for reddit and Instagram, but although I had successfully given up most social media I was still spending a considerable amount of time scrolling through reels on Instagram.
So that brings us to about a month ago, I decided on this "Aspera R40" (aka HAMMER 5 Smart) as it was pretty much the only thing available in Australia thats 1: not a flip phone (nothing against them theyre just not my thing) 2: runs KaiOS and 3: has VoLTE since the country recently shut down 3g networks so phones MUST have VoLTE to be used in Australia.
This phone has been pretty much everything I wanted in a feature phone and I now only use social media when I'm at home, I still have my smartphone for banking and stuff that just can't be done on a feature phone but I don't take it with me anywhere unless I know I have to use maps or something.
Long ass write up, TLDR: Dumbphone Good.
