should focus more on product quality and technology accumulation

EVs have been much talked about lately, but I found that some traditional car companies, such as Lotus(LOT), don't seem to be in a hurry to fight for sales, but rather focus more on product quality and technology accumulation. And smart driving technology is also an important element, which feels quite interesting. Isn't this route more advantageous in the long run than companies that are obsessed with market share?
