Tacrolimus Works!

Tacrolimus 0.1% really works, although the progress is really slow. I have been using it now for three months (once daily) and I only began to see progress in the past two weeks. My lips still peal but only once every 8 days or so and it is incredibly thin and clear. My lips also are no longer inflamed. They look normal most days and even after I exfoliate, they are not raw and look fine. I also have restored a water barrier. My lips do not get soggy for wet if exposed to water. They maintain their barrier which is amazing. I do still get the white lines but nevertheless, I have made huge progress.

As a darker person, EC has also caused hypopigmentation but tacrolimus has helped to restore my natural color a bit. I've met with many specialists and they assured me it was safe to use it long term so I have no concerns.

If anyone else uses Tacrolimus, know that you won't see progress right away. Don't let it demoralize you. My EC was really bad last year and i almost lost all hope. You must stay patient and you will begin to see progress. Best of luck friends!
