Mega Post-Book Depression: How have you all been coping?
Woof, so a book has only done this to me once before (RW&RB 2019 . . . yikes), but I am so far gone down the post-book depression rabbit hole. Something about FW and IF really just yoinked my heartstrings, and I'm having a hard time rebounding or thinking about anything else.
I'd normally ask for more book recs, but I've already gotten those from quite a few people—I've heard ACOTAR is a great follow up, Throne of Glass, and bunches more. To be honest, though, I'm not sure I'm ready to move on from the FW books, yet. I just don't feel ready to dive into another story. Found a great Xaden's POV: Fourth Wing AO3 by belle_beebee that mimics RY's writing SO well (definitely recommend) and I have absolutely SPED through it, but that's about to be done, too. And I'm not sure I'm ready to reread the books, either; something about the idea of rereading right now gives me a sinking feeling, and I know my brain is trying to move on while my heart is stuck on this.
What else have y'all been doing to fill the gap? Is it really as simple as reading new books, even if you don't feel ready? Are there any movies or songs or other things you've done to help you move past the the FW/IF post-book depression? Any thoughts are appreciated!
P. S. – Happy Valentine's Day to everyone, but especially those of us without anything close to a Xaden or Violet in their lives. May your day be filled with tons of unexpected joy! :')
