How to choose a surgeon?

I have finally saved the money and the go the gender dysphoria diagnosis I’ve been waiting for. I decided it was time in look into options for surgeons and places to get it done but I really have no idea where to start. I live within a reasonable distance of SLC, UT which I’ve heard has good cosmetic surgeons but I have no idea what to do haha.

Any advice on where to look? What to look for? What to avoid? Even just info on the process? I have no trans friends and need all the info I can get.
