X870e elite WiFi7 ram issues

For a couple weeks I have had extensive ram issues with my new x870e elite WiFi. I am using a dual channel 32gb kit for 64gb total. Much more info coming:

  • kit is g.skill s5 cl36 and listed as compatible on the gigabyte website. Looked up the exact memory on the ram support tab and it IS compatible

  • kit was obviously fully mounted (I am not a new builder and tried seating them properly a few times to double check)

  • kit was in a2 and b2

  • either stick works solo in a2 and passes stress tests with no issue

  • either stick does not work in any other port (ec error for any other combination aside from just a2)

  • tried another known good set from a very similar build (9600x3d with s5 ram as well. Same speed but 16gb sticks). My ram works in the other pc and the other PCs ram doesn’t work in mine. (Single stick in a2 does the same and works fine but I mean the same exact issue as the other set)

  • tried latest bios update and the previous one. Heard the beta f2j bios fixes it but gigabyte pulled the beta version. I believe it’s called F2i but whatever one came out mid December is the one I’m using.

  • tried manually setting ram timings and lowered speed and even slightly higher voltage for stability. Went with worse than rated settings to test. No dice so reset the settings to default as I continued testing.

My time is valuable and this has wasted quite a bit of it. Is this expensive mobo bad product or should I expect an f3 bios that fixes these issues soon? I can keep using it with one stick for now as I rarely need all 64gb but it’s annoying because when I do for productivity it’s quite a difference.

Can give the exact ram model later but again the other kit I had that’s known good didn’t work, and my new kit worked in the other PC, so I definitely think it’s the mobos fault. Funny to spend this much on a mobo and get more issues than the cheap builds I’ve done. I’ve never had this many problems with a motherboard since I started building in 2011 lol.
