Bus Wankers

** Worst Bus Post ** Also apologies if this isnt the right place to post, its only because I see First Bus get discussed quite a lot on here.. Quélle Surprisé

Context is - My 65yr old Mum was on a First Bus in Glasgow last night around 6pm while out with Friends and had her mobility walker too that aids her while she is out and about outside Home.

So she gets on the bus & after she had scanned her NEC Card the driver thought that - rather than allow a Disabled Passenger adequate time to maneuver herself with her aid to the seating area allocated for passengers with limited mobility - it would be a brilliant idea to instantly quickly pull away from the Bus Stop which sent my poor wee Mum flying down the bus, where she has hurt her head against the bars which has given her a lump on her head and landed her on the floor... all the while the "Driver" did absolutely NOTHING to help her whatsoever and didnt stop to check she was alright. Not a peep. (even though the have signs all over telling us not to stand up when the bus is still in motion 🤨 how does that work if they dont let the passengers get seated in the bloomin first instance)

I'm legitimately fuming at the appalling way she has been treated by this ars*hole and this isnt the first bus accident (no pun intended) that she has been a victim of but the last time she didnt want to even make a complaint or make a fuss but I'm sorry they can't get away with this behaviour and injuring people ❌️

Ofc our first actions are we already have her at the hospital getting a check over especially for her head injury and will also ask them for a copy of their report, but I was looking for advice on where to go next with this - Do I contact an Injury Specialist Lawyer before contacting First themselves with a complaint or give First a chance to rectify this matter? I know that the Bus CCTV will show everything but ofc I wont be given a copy of it. Thank you in advance for any advice with this. It is greatly appreciated.

TL,DR : 65yr old Mum was on a Bus last night with her Mobility Aid and the Driver didnt let her sit down before moving the bus and sent her flying - which caused her injury - looking for advice on what to do after hospital checkup, injury lawyer or standard complaint to First?

** Edit **

Wow, I have just came back to this after getting Mum checked at the Hospital -- luckily she isn't seriously hurt other than a surface bump on her head, a swollen shoulder and little shaken up by it all. Thankfully x-ray was all good -- could'nt fault the Nurses/Drs who dealt with her ) and the response from everyone in the replies is astonishing 👏🏼

Thank you all so much for your top advice and caring comments, I'll definitely be taking this up further with an injury law firm as techically although not seriously she was still injured luckily for the Driver, of course First themselves to seek the internal bus CCTV and to make a complaint that something will be done about the Driver because this cant keep happening to the public but most importantly make sure Mum is feeling better 💯
