Picked up a 2024 Acadia Denali yesterday, and it’s already worth every penny.

As the title says, we just got our new Acadia yesterday. Being a mid-size Denali, it wasn’t the most expensive GMC offering on the lot, but it sure wasn’t cheap either. As a result, I spent the night going back and forth between a mix of being wowed by the car and feeling a bit nauseous over the instant depreciation of driving a new SUV off the lot.

All that changed today when, in the rain, some drugged out guy suddenly walked in front of the car my wife was behind while she was on her way to drop our kids off at school. The Acadia detected the sudden braking of the car ahead and immediately alerted her to also brake.

It all happened very fast, and she was a bit shaken up afterward, so we’re not really sure how much the car stepped in as far as actually applying the brakes versus just warning her. What I do know is whatever the car did, it was enough to protect my family from a potentially serious accident, and that instantly erased any feelings I had about whether the car was “worth it.”

I know other less expensive cars offer similar tech, so I’m not implying someone needs to buy the same type of vehicle to achieve the same level of safety, but as far as this owner is concerned about this Acadia, the car absolutely earned its stripes today, and now I have nothing but love for this beautiful machine.
