Something a lot of people missed about Hasan's statement that Ethan "Cried like a little bitch"
I think it flew over a lot of people's head how disgusting this comment was (besides the misogyny), since it happened on Hasan's stream.
To recap:
During the Leftovers fallout, they had a conversation on Hasan's stream about I/P where Hasan's chat was spamming antisemetic shit and calling Ethan a racist. Additionally, his mods were participating (Frogan, one of Hasan's head mods called him a racist islamophobe) and his discord was filled with the same shit.
During that conversation Ethan ended up crying and had to go offscreen for a while because he got so upset. He also cried while saying "don't you care that your chat and moderators are calling me a racist?", where Hasan responded by basically saying "well what do you expect, when you're saying racist shit?", which obviously gave his community the green light to be even more unhinged.
To be clear, Ethan obviously never said anything racist and only wanted to talk about his concerns with rising antisemetism (especially in Hasan's chat), how some Jewish people might be uncomfortable with the phrase "from the river to the sea" since it could imply the wish for Isreal's destruction, and his disagreement with the viability of a one-state solution.
He even specified that he didn't care that people used the phrase, only that he wished Hasan would acknowledge that some Jewish people might feel a little uncomfortable by that, given the concerning rise in antisemetism. He also said that he would be down for a one-state solution sometime in the future, only that it's not viable right now.
That makes it all the more insidious and disgusting that Hasan is now framing it as Ethan crying because he got so "owned" in that conversation, which was not the case at all. Either Hasan genuinely has so little empathy that he's unable to recognise why Ethan was upset even after Ethan telling it to him explicitly, or he's now framing it differently in an attempt to gaslight everybody to score some points. Either way, he genuinely comes off as a psychopath.
