Kyle Davidson 32 Thoughts Interview
Curious if anyone watched the interview today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ0ko0F6DO0
There are timestamps for the interview (it's about an hour).
Here is my brief summary:
- Acknowledges we are not where we expected to be in terms of standings. Doesn't give a concrete reason why. The approach still seems to "big picture" and likes the progress he's seen from the prospects.
- Also acknowledges that rebuilds are hard and don't guarantee success, but still feels it was the right plan for the organization. Talks broadly about taking criticism and social media.
- Seems like Levshunov was likely going to be the pick at 2 all along. Says there was a debate but not a "fierce" one.
- Still doesn't really explain the plan to trade with Columbus (the thought was we wanted Demidov too). Interestingly he says he would still make the trade even knowing where we are right now.
- Likes Sorensen but says this is NOT his job to lose. Sounds like there will be a process, but Sorensen will likely be a candidate.
- Has good relationship with Bedard, and Bedard is on board with "the plan". Says Bedard often asks about how the prospects are doing. KD was not too worried about his slump.
