Should I join my high school hockey team?

I don’t have any formal hockey training, i have played lots of street hockey, I did a year of figure skating a bit ago, and now I am an in-line skater. I love watch hockey and playing but I have not formal lessons. I’m about a month, my Highschool JV team has try out thing, most people that try will make it, that’s what they say. I have no friends in the team and no formal training. Should I join?
