MEDIC! SERVER DOWN! Need to replace, suggestions??

Ok, so my dad has been running a "server" at his house. It's running a Supermicro X10-SLH-F with 16GB Ram in a Norco 4220 case.. The backplanes have been going out for a while and he's starting to get random blue screens, missing boot device, etc. In short, it's time for a new system.

The primary use for this is an Emby server for his home, he doesn't stream while traveling or anything.

He currently has 1 SSD for the OS, and 9 mechanical drives for storage (4-8TB).

I recently upgraded my server and I COULD give him my old stuff, but 1) my daughter wants them to build a gaming PC, and 2) I think my backplanes are also having issues. I have a Norco 4224, and I have at least 14 good bays, so there is plenty for his drives and then some. Mine is a i7-7700K with 64GB ram and a nvme drive for the OS.. I have LSI boards I can salvage from his old machine, or I can use mine.

Instead of giving him my old stuff again, I am curious if someone could recommend something new-ish that would work. He doesn't need a ton of power, they only stream to 1-2 devices at most, and rarely any transcoding. I think the biggest issue is having something to install Emby Server on, and to house his drives.

Thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

Thanks in advance!
