HELOC

Hi. Am trying to see if anyone has done a HELOC or something like it before? I closed on my home July of 2021 and need to get a handle on credit cards and a re do a bathroom that I feel like it could fail sooner than later.

Anyone have advice or a direction to go would help out tremendously!

Edit: sorry it was unclear. I am just looking to see if anyone has done a HELOC and if so, their experience. The credit card issue would be to use some of the money to pay off and essentially consolidate using the loan.

My house was “born” in 1976 and the tub/shower bottom feels like it is going to break. I just recently found out it is sitting on dirt and once standing in the tub you can literally feel the bounce of it. If it breaks with water in it, I feel like it could cause a lot of damage.
