Can I handle Martyrs?

For reference: I've seen Antichrist with Willem Dafoe and that was close to pushing my limits. Didn't feel great after watching. Also the dog scene in When Evil Lurks was also a bit disturbing. Not terrible. I don't want anything spoiled, but could the horror vets here give me a yay or nay?

Also is the movie more horror or more gore/torture?
