Swimsuit or no swimsuit?

Intended as a SFW conversation. I have been told that keeping clothes and swimsuits out of the hot tub helps to keep the water clearer and chemicals more balanced. Is there any validity to keeping clothes out of the tub? With company and family we wear swimsuits, my wife and I get in nude. As a bonus, we also don't have to take off the soaking wet cold bathing suits when we come inside. I notice our swimsuits are starting to get bleached from the pool and or hot tub as well. Anyone have any thoughts out there?
