Discussion post for the recent news of DMM's seizure of JAV's largest pirate domain.

Yes, they have backup domains, but also yes, there's a very good chance this is the tip of the iceberg per seizures and shutdowns of illicit JAV sites that is a long-time coming.

And also yes, the question of how meaningful this is for the foreign user due to legit Japanese platforms engaging in geo-blocking remains paramount.
