Keeping the Honey Oak

Starting our kitchen revamp. Obviously more is going to be done but flooring is where we are starting. I’m so torn, should we get a warm oak flooring similar to cabinets or go lighter to open the space up and break up the wood. 1st pic is kitchen and others are inspo. Links are helpful! Tile will not work in this cold Minnesota home and I’m not a big fan of the look. (The existing flooring is ripped in places so no keeping it)
