Could consecutive releases be influencing BLACKPINK members' solo performance?

Today, I want to talk specifically about BLACKPINK members' Spotify numbers. First of all, I want to make it clear that this post is in no way intended to criticize girls. They continue to achieve impressive numbers and maintain their global impact. However, when looking at recent data, it's impossible to ignore a downward trend in streams compared to previous releases.

Let's take a look at the numbers from the first 24 hours on Spotify:

-Lisa: Moonlit Floor recorded 4.4M streams, while Rockstar outperformed with 5.8M in the same period. Still, Lisa remains the most stable of the group, having reached her highest peak with New Women (6.01M).

-Rosé: Toxic Till The End accumulated 3.8M streams, significantly lower than APT (6.8M), although it is important to consider that APT featured Bruno Mars, which may have influenced the results.

-Jennie: Biggest surprise so far. Mantra debuted with 5.2M streams, but Love Hangover only got 2.8M. I confess that I expected higher numbers for Love Hangover, especially considering its positive reception. Perhaps the reduced visibility in the disclosure impacted its performance.

Although the numbers are still high, there is a noticeable drop in more recent releases. This raises the question: is the strategy of releasing songs in sequence affecting streams? When a new track arrives right after another, audiences may still be absorbing the previous release, which can dilute attention and engagement.

Now, with Lisa's Born Again set to release next week, a new expectation has emerged. Will this song outperform previous numbers or continue this downward trend? The partnership with Doja Cat could be a big differentiator, since she is one of the most popular artists on streams, however, the promotion seems to be facing the same problems as Love Hangover. Furthermore, Doja Cat has not yet mentioned the collaboration, which may mean that part of her audience is not even aware of the release, reducing its impact.

Given these numbers, the question arises: Will Love Hangover be able to recover in the coming days? And will Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo's upcoming tracks perform better?

I emphasize once again that this is not a criticism of the girls. I know many people avoid posts about charts and numbers, but my goal here is just to reflect on how release strategies can influence results on Spotify. It is worth remembering that the numbers they achieve continue to be extraordinary, not only for K-pop, but for pop music as a whole. After all, few artists get 2M or even 1M streams in the first 24 hours.

Now, I want to hear your opinion! What do you think about this drop in streams? And what are your expectations for Born Again, Ruby and AMORTAGE?
