Boss confirms a Christmas day shift?
I recently started a new job in Puerto Rico and my schedule for next week seemed a bit off, I made a call to my boss to confirm if there was a mistake and their wasn't.
I have to work a 7 hour shift on Christmas Eve until 7pm and then work another shift on Christmas day starting at midnight (12am), which is only 5 hours apart.
So I found it funny because as far as I know, labor laws in Puerto Rico states that you need at least 8 hours of rest between shifts, this job is specifically food production and customer service, so it's a typical commercial job and I'm non exempt.
Unfortunately I don't have a copy of my contract, and I don't usually read before signing, I don't really have a good excuse here, I'm just very dumb. But I want to see what's written in my contract just to double check for this shift stuff, since my employee handbook didn't state anything about being allowed to work less than 8 hours of rest, let alone on a holiday
