From an MX450 to a 4050 Laptop, finally!
I posted here a few months ago on what your 2GB Vram MX450 card can do. I managed to reach high settings 30 fps on some recent games with that card by overclocking it. But at some point, it gave out. Although I didnt change the settings, it could no longer squeeze more out of it.
Thanks to my recent promotion, I finally was able to afford a 4050 laptop, and what a difference! The games that I played on 30 fps now ran like butter. Not just 60fps, but actually going hundreds. My eyes has never seen so much FPS that stable.
It's still not the best card around, but for 1080p gaming, am perfectly happy with it.
For those considering a new laptop, always look at how the laptop you are going to buy is capable of many more Watt. My MX450 was a 25w, I heard there was a higher one that was more capable. The higher the number, the more power it can give
Edit: Am now using a Lenovo LOQ with 13th gen Intel and a RTX 4050 105w GPU.
