Did anyone actually like a major history shifting even while it was happening?
I started reading comic books in the 1990s and I’ve seen A LOT of paradigm shifts, editorial mandates, trend chasing, and shock value just to drum up business in this beautiful hobby of ours. At the time it seemed like the end of the world because I was too young to understand that comic retcons were always happening and I couldn’t live in a world with that blonde guy instead of Peter Parker.
The question is, who here lived through a Clone Saga, New X-Men, Ultimate Marvel, One More Day, etc and thought to themselves, not only is this a great idea, but I actually like it?! Not just FOMO and hype. Genuine affection for the changes as it was happening.
