Question: Would Carrion be considered a MetroidVania?

So Carrion has a somewhat "metroid-esque" look about it and I just wanted to clarify. You're a mass of tentacles and teeth and you eat people and gain new abilities. it's pretty neat, and I suggest y'all check it out.
