Don't Move (2024) was enjoyable but ruined by something
I watched the movie Don't Move and for the most part thought it was well done, I enjoyed it. But when I checked to see how many minutes were still left and I saw the end was nearing I was afraid it would be a bad scene, and sure enough it was. She clearly was going to get the upper hand, but the way it was done really ruined it for me.
Her hands were tied with the tie rips, yet she managed to get a hold of that knife and took him by surprise, maybe it was the way it was filmed or acted but that scene was ridiculous. It felt very off to me. I definitely wanted her to win, but this felt so cheap. It honestly would have been better if she had somehow rocked the boat and he fell into the water or something, still a bit dumb but more believable than this. I had to rewind the scene to see if I was missing something. I don't think he was even close enough to her for her to be able to grab the knife, sigh.
Other scenes I thought were odd was how she managed to grab the syringe, when and how? The seat belt I can kinda believe since it's so close to her, but the syringe? Or did she grab it when the psycho was killing the cop? Yeah it's probably that. I guess she'd have enough time then. Still, the psycho didn't see the syringe missing, interesting.
The other scene was earlier when the psycho was about to leave by car and decided he'd go back and get her, so he was aware she was behind the couch after all? To me it seemed he heard the finger taps but then saw nothing and left. More logical would be that he knew she was there and decided to "rescue" her after all.
So I'm not entirely sure if those are "bad" scenes perse, but her escape, so to speak, weak as hell. Bummer.
