Starting an IT business in the UK young
As the title suggests, I am in my early twenties and hold a degree in computer science. I have been a technical engineer for the last year, primarily dealing with business networking. During my work, I have noticed that many businesses do not have an IT company or person that they rely on for IT support.
I want to start my own IT company at a young age so that I can make mistakes now and learn from them, rather than waiting until my thirties. I believe that I can achieve this by:
- Creating a website
- Advertising on social media
- Emailing local businesses
- Visiting them in person
I plan to do this while working a full-time job. I know I need to get business insurance to protect myself and my clients. Any suggestions or advice would be great. ( This would be a side project alongside working full-time with the website hosting etc costing around £40 to create it all.)
