Boy cat names needed 🐈
Hi all, longtime lurker here. I am fostering to adopt this adorable 2 year old boy cat and really stumped on a name! I have a whole list but nothing is really calling to me. The foster person was calling him Marcario which my brain turned into Macaroni and I thought I would keep that name for him, but once he got home it was very clear he was not a macaroni. I am usually a very Serious Name person but I am trying to be lighthearted with this effort. This petite kitty is a major snuggler and goofball who was found as a feral in downtown Baltimore.
I have another cat named Fern and at one point I had several other animals all with F names (coincidence), so I thought I might try to keep an F theme and also maybe a plant/nature theme. The only things I came up with were Fennel and Fennec (like the fox). Neither really seem right.
Someone suggested Jürgen and I actually love it and it's the closest at the moment, but I'm not totally sure.
So I turn to you all for some ideas. I would be curious to hear more F and/or nature-related names but at this point I'm open to any boy cat names. Not really into the "Sir Reginald McFluffersworth III" type names. I don't mind a little ridiculousness though (which Jürgen feels a little ridic to me for this cat, in a good way). Open to food names, characters from media, or even just words that sound nice. Also I'll preface that I've known probably thousands of animals in my life and some names I really like but have to rule out because of other associations (Thistle, Bramble, Gus, Jack, Walter, Wilson, Nettle, Fergus, Fable, Frank/Franklin, I'm sure there's more).
Names on my list, in no particular order, with varying degrees of affinity:
- Jürgen
- Arlo
- Clover
- Fennel
- Fig / Figgy
- Fennec
- Fettle
- Farro (would be too confused with Pharaoh)
- Fava Bean
- Henry
- MacGregor (a family name)
