What do you think of medieval "Arthurian" names?
I'm currently reading some of the Arthurian legends for a college class and there are a TON of names that I've never really heard on a modern person, particularly for boys. Some of them are obviously too antiquated to be used anymore (nobody is naming their kid Bagdemagus in 2025), and some are still in relatively common use (Arthur, Mark, Tristram/Tristan) but I think some of them could really work as uncommon but still classic names. Percival, Lionel, and Gawain stand out to me as potential good choices. There are fewer women in the stories but I think Isolde could be a nice name for a girl. Do you like the vibe of these names and would you ever choose one (or another medieval era name) over a more modern sounding one?
