Sex Education Feels Very Unfinished
So I just watched the last episode of Sex Education and I have some thoughts,
So firstly, it was brand-spankingly well delivered. I felt emotional at the end which is really the payoff in ending any series. If it doesn't make you cry, it's not a good ending. However, it did feel like a good amount of great stuff was left out. I'll be listing what I loved & what I think would've been great if it had been included.
What I loved:
- Eric becoming a priest
- Jackson finding out & getting closure about his dad
- Maeve's letter to Otis at the very end
- Aimee healing from her sexual assault by burning the jeans
- Otis and Eric reconciling as best friends before the ending
- Cavendish College raising money for Cal's top surgery
- Roman trying to be romantic with Abbi in the beginning of the episode
- Vivienne telling her abusive boyfriend to leave her alone
- Maeve standing up to her bullying professor
What would've made it even better:
- Ola & Jakob not being removed from the series (like why the hell would you remove such important characters? Seriously?!)
- A scene of Cal getting the money at the end of auction with the whole college clapping & then a scene of them on hospital bed getting put to sleep before their top surgery
- Adam's boss not asking him out on a date (I don't give a s**t what anyone says, who the hell wants to date their boss? Ew)
- Adam's dad & mom sorting out their issues properly, I just feel like things ended too confusingly with them
- Dan screaming, "WHAT?!" after getting told that Jean's baby is his during the end credit music & we get a funny pause before the credits resume
Those are just my ideas for a more, linear and complete ending, let me know your thoughts too!
P.S. Roman in season 4 is f***ing gorgeous, oh my god, what I would give to have a femboy boyfriend like him is... indescribable.
