Open Letter to Nvidia

I've been gaming for over 30 years and i don't ever see myself ever stopping. It's a great hobby of mine and it's one of the few ways I can actually relax and take my mind of real life responsibilities. These few hours of "blankness" is paramount to my mental well being. I'm sure many people here feel the same way.

Everytime I buy/ordered a new gaming hardware, I always feel giddy inside. It felt like my inner child was getting very excited. I still vividly remember my first ever Nvidia graphics card, the GeForce 2 GTS. I was in high school at that time and I can't believe what a difference it made in my PC games. Warcraft 3 had never felt so SMOOTH!

I've been gaming on NES, SNES, Wii, Wii U, Switch, PS1,2,3,4,5. Going through GeForce 2 GTS, GeForce 6200, GT130, 550Ti, 750, 950, 1070ti, 3070ti and most recently, 5080.

When I first saw your announcement, I was hyped. So hyped that I call my local PC store and paid full for a MSI Vanguard Launch Edition RTX 5080. This is my very first high end card in my entire gaming hobby career and I was BEYOND hyped. After years of hardworking, I'm finally one of the big boys now!

However, that joy was extremely short lived. When people are reporting missing ROPs, my heart fucking dropped. 8 ROPs missing? You fucking kidding me? That's a performance drop of at least 10%.

For the first time in my gaming hobby career of over 30 years, I felt extreme remorse after ordering new gaming hardware. Called the shop to see if I could cancel my order, but they couldn't because it was already en route (Malaysia has very awful consumer rights).

My RTX5080 arrived yesterday and after installing it, instead of firing up my favorite games to see what kind of performance gains I'm getting, for the VERY first time the first software I startup is CPUZ to see if my card is missing ROPs. After seeing 112 ROPs, I was relieved.

Nvidia, Jensen. This is not how it's supposed to be. This is bullshit.
