Is it "ok" for techs to take verbal scripts?

I know it's technically supposed to be interns and RPhs taking verbals but my tech at my pharmacy got into a huge fight with me today how she is senior tech and has 5+ years of experience and that she can take verbals bc she wants to have connections with the doctors or whatever. I don't have a problem with her doing it, just don't want to get in trouble ... trying to find out if it's really a big deal since apparently some pharmacies allow their techs to take down verbals....
