is it time to give up?

i got my conch 6 months ago and it hasn’t been healing well at all. i got it pierced with flat back titanium (i think) earring and it hasn’t been downsized. i use a saline medical wound wash almost daily although i know i should be using it more. it has been months and the irritation bump hasn’t gone away away and just now it started bleeding. i’m thinking it’s time to let go and remove the piercing. i was also wondering whether the earring itself may be causing irritation since it isn’t the normal stainless steel bar. thoughts?
